About Us
Who are the MovieForum.com Team?
We're a group of friends who used to manage, and lead, the messaging
and chat in two CompuServe forums devoted to Movies and
Video. In April '98 we moved to the web, and from November that
year struck out on our own with our movie forum "Movie Cat's Pad"
on Delphi Forums. A website to complement the forum seemed the
next logical step so MovieForum.com was born on the 28th of June
1999 and has continued to grow since then, developing into a site integrating
features with forum discussions rather than just being solely messageboard
based. Our forum seeks to be a happy medium for film fans where they're
not intimated by other members' "superior" knowledge or met, at the
other extreme, by a complete lack of interesting debate. Instead of
focusing primarily on new releases we cover all movies - past, present
and future. So whatever your interest this is the place to discuss it.
The team share a common love for movies, but also have varying tastes
- perhaps reflected by the fact that they're spread out between the
UK, USA and Canada. Looking at our lists of Likes and Dislikes (see
our profiles) it's a wonder we don't spend a lot of our time arguing!
Better that way, than us all boring everyone by talking as one, though.
As well as listing some of our movie likes and dislikes, the profiles
provide a bit of background information on the team. Our email addresses
are also listed should you ever wish to contact us other than via the
forum messageboard. As webmaster, and forum manager, Cat can also always
be contacted via the email link on all the pages of the site.
