Movie Dislikes
- Hollywood always casting Brits as the bad guys.
- Hollywood depicting Brits as 'Hooray Henry' types (see Brit pilots
in Independence Day).
- Hollywood's Brigadoon view of Scotland.
- British films being dubbed or sub-titled for their US release.
- Pan and Scan (she's never recovered from seeing a headless Christopher
Plummer in The Sound of Music)
- Colourisation (why should we have to suffer through something that
looks like a child has got hold of one of those 'magic painting' books
and made invisible pictures appear by painting water over them. The
movie picture was perfectly fine before thank you very much!)
- Dubbing foreign language films (give her subtitles every time)
- People that think you're not a true movie fan if you don't watch
them all on the big screen (you try living miles and miles away from
the nearest cinema).
- UK posters for Hollywood films containing quotes from obscure American
reviewers the Brits have never heard of. ( Brits ain't stupid, they
know it means the movie died a death at the US Box Office.)
- The media trying to blame all society's woes on movies.
- Kenneth Branagh's Hamlet not getting the recognition
it deserved.
- Kevin Costner (in Robin Hood, Prince of Thieves).
