Robert L
Already a household name to those rare few who thrill to study the
end credits of any direct-to-video Shannon Tweed epic, resident
Horror/Cult guru Robert Lewis (or Robert L) is that rare
"film geek" who has parlayed his life-long single-minded obsession with
all things cinematic into an actual, if undistinguished, career as a
Toronto-based storyboard artist and conceptual illustrator. Growing
up in Northern Ontario as a Super 8 filmmaker, Robert likely never guessed
that he'd one day be putting his film degree and drawing ability to
good use by drawing both David Keith and Corey Feldman
naked.
Having further survived the rancid trenches of the Canadian Film Industry
by co-hosting a children's TV show and penning three professional but
still-unproduced screenplays, Robert has recently been delivered from
B-movie oblivion by recent, downright respectable gigs with John
Woo and the popular TV programs Goosebumps and Animorphs.
Oddly, Shannon and the Coreys keep calling.
Never one to keep his opinions to himself, Robert has managed message
sections, written reviews, and conducted chats where ever cyberspace
will have him, not only alongside the other MovieForum.com staff in
their original online homes, but also CompuServe's now-defunct People
Magazine Online and the late, lamented "Tapehead" (hmm, can there be
a pattern developing here?)"
Until he secures financing for his own big-screen extravaganzas, Robert
will be here, regularly waxing romantically on anything remotely related
to the cinema. But remember that he is especially passionate over those
unique entries featuring fleshy-headed mutants, bizarre orifices, otherworldly
invaders, misunderstood tool box murderers, irradiated Swedish wrestlers,
or giant, carnivorous bunnies.
