How do I join the forum?

Click on the Log In / Join link at the left hand side of the MovieForum.com pages. If you're in the forum reading messages click on the link in the top frame, or just try to post a message in our forum, either by clicking on a Reply button or a Post New link. You'll be taken to a form to fill in which will only take a minute.

Here's a screenshot showing how simple the sign-up form is. Click on it if you want to join right now:

As soon as you have joined you'll be taken to our forum and back to the post message screen if you'd tried to post a reply before.

If you are a member you'll see the log-in screen on your first session visit, but after clicking the button you'll then immediately be taken to the discussion that you selected here. If you follow any other such links in the same session you'll go straight to the Pad.

How can I see at a glance whether any new messages have been posted? How can I update my membership preferences?

New messages, posted since your last visit, will show up with a star icon next to them in the forum. As well as getting email notifications of messages addressed to you, you can also "subscribe" to discussions you're particularly interested in. You'll then get an email notice telling you when new messages have been posted to them. We recommend that you bookmark your 'My Forums' page at http://myforums.com or you can click on the link to there from within our forum. From that page you can also see at a glance if there are new messages in the forum since your last visit, and if your subscribed to discussions have new messages in them. It's also the place to update your member information and preferences.
