The Movie Forum FAQ cont.

Is there a graphic I can use to link to the forum?

Like chatting about movies, then join me at MovieForum.comNot only that, but each month we'll pick one lucky winner from those of you that link to the MovieForum.com site or the forum and award a prize. See the bottom of the page for how to enter.

As we imagine that these will be used mainly in messages rather than on webpages we've kept the graphics fairly small and given you a choice of sizes.

When someone clicks on the graphic a new browser window will open and they'll be taken to the Start Page of the actual forum. You can, if you wish, alter the code so it links to the main MovieForum.com address - http://www.movieforum.com

See the instructions at the bottom of the page if you want to set up your forum preferences to automatically include the graphic, of your choice, in your message signature.

The most explanatory graphic as it includes the site name and description! If you want to use this graphic copy and paste the following code:

<P><a href="http://forums.movieforum.com/moviecat" target="_blank"><img src="http://www.movieforum.com/images/links/movieforum3.gif" width="104" height="70" border="0" alt="Like chatting about movies, then join me at MovieForum.com"></a></P>

A bit smaller while still giving a clue of the destination in the quote. Copy and paste the following code to display this graphic:

<P><a href="http://forums.movieforum.com/moviecat" target="_blank"><img src="http://www.movieforum.com/images/links/movieforum2.gif" width="104" height="36" border="0" alt="Like chatting about movies, then join me at MovieForum.com"></a></P>

Short of space? Then copy and paste the following code to display the above logo:

<P><a href="http://forums.movieforum.com/moviecat" target="_blank"><img src="http://www.movieforum.com/images/links/movieforum1.gif" width="36" height="36" border="0" alt="Like chatting about movies, then join me at MovieForum.com"></a></P>

Really short of space, or like being ever so mysterious, or just plain silly? :-) Well then you can use what is actually our favicon (which IE users see in their Favorites if they bookmark our site). Copy and paste the following to use it:

<P><a href="http://forums.movieforum.com/moviecat" target="_blank"><img src="http://www.movieforum.com/images/links/movieforum.gif" width="16" height="16" border="0" alt="Like chatting about movies, then join me at MovieForum.com"></a></P>

Instructions for setting up your forum signature to include the graphic [remember you can easily add it to an existing sig, it doesn't have to replace your personal sig]

1. Click here to open up your My Forums page in a new browser window.

2. On that page click on the My Preferences link.

3. On the resulting page scroll down to Personal Signature

4. If you see the WYSIWYG editor (if you're using Windows IE 5.*) make sure you click on the Source selection under it before pasting the actual code. However if you're familiar with copying and pasting graphics using the normal WYSIWYG option just highlight copy and paste in the actual graphic of your choice from this page, as they're all working examples.

If you get a normal input box click on the Contains HTML option under it.

5. Copy and paste your chosen code into the box.

6. Scroll down and click on the Submit button.

That's it. From then on when you post a message your graphic should be automatically added. Though it may take a short while for the forum servers to catch up with the change you've made.
