Why did you partner with Prospero Technologies for your chat forum messageboard?

The Prospero forums are easy to use, for both members and staff. From the management side they are simple for us to configure and manage, and to integrate their many features elsewhere in our website. For example you can post messages, and vote in polls, from the various article pages on our site without having to visit the messageboard itself. You have to become a member to post on the board but that has many benefits that make it worthwhile in our opinion [We occasionally allow Guest Posting but it's much nicer to see messages posted by named individuals rather than anonymous "Guests"]. Our members find the Prospero style of forum simple to navigate, and very organised, compared with many other web messageboards. If you've tried to message on boards which involve endless scrolling and clicking to get from one thread, or even message, to another we think you'll be pleasantly surprised with our Movie Forum.

There is even a choice of messageboard layout - Basic and Advanced, so you can see and use the format that suits you best. We recommend the Advanced View and a lot of the links we provide will show that view when you follow them. Please take a moment to familiarise yourself with the differences between the two views so you can then select which you'd prefer.

A big plus, in our opinion, is members can select to have notifications of waiting messages emailed to them. Plus you can "subscribe" to get notifications that messages have been posted to particular discussions you're interested in. That way you don't miss out on replies or make un-neccesary visits (though we hope you'll find enough to interest you to visit regularly).

The forum software is continually being improved on. Look out for announcements in our Forum Info folder in the Pad about the latest features.

Can I read the messages without joining?

Sure you can, we wouldn't have it any other way. There's a Guest View option that allows you to read the MovieForum.com messageboards (i.e. in Movie Cat's Pad) without having to join the forum first. After clicking on a link here, if Prospero doesn't detect a cookie on your system, you'll go straight in as a Guest. This option will mean you can only read the messages, if you wish to post you must join and log on each session you spend there Joining the forum is totally free, and all we ask for is your name, email address, membername, password & age group. So the sign-up process is quick and painless, there's no need for us to collect demographic details for advertising because our messageboard forum is advert free. The fact you log in means the forum software 'remembers' who you are, so you're not greeted by messages you've already read etc.
