What are the forum rules that members have to follow?
Please Do:
Join in, have fun and make friends!
Members are positively encouraged to 'jump in' on ongoing discussions
and to start new ones. Don't worry about who a message is addressed
to, it really is the more the merrier.
Ask for help if you're not sure about something.
If in doubt ask. It's more useful for everyone if such queries are
posted on the messageboard, chances are someone else probably wants
to know the same thing, but you are welcome to email us for assistance
as well.
Make suggestions.
If you don't ask, you don't get ;-) If there's something you'd like
to see on the messageboard or on these pages please let us know. Just
leave a comment in our Forum Info/Feedback topic folder.
Do email staff with any concerns you may have.
If you've a problem with something in the forum, or another member,
please bring it to our attention. You can report violations via the
Options menu displayed on each forum message (that feature may not be
available on some browser/operating system combinations). Plus there's
an email link to Movie Cat, our forum manager, in the top frame of the
forum.
Please Don't:
Spam.
Spam messages such as chain letters, hoaxes, adverts (including messages
posted to promote other forums/sites), pyramid selling schemes etc.
, will be removed from public view. Depending on the circumstances/severity
of the incident the poster will either be warned, gagged, or immediately
locked out of the messageboard/chat area. If you're wanting to promote
your own pages/forum please consider the fact that people will be more
likely to visit your site if they've had the chance to get to know you
as a regular contributor to our forum. We have no problem with you including
signature links in your messages. People who 'hit and run' by joining
a forum just to post a message to promote their own site/forum aren't
doing themselves any favours.
N.B. If you are a studio, or publicity company
etc, wishing to discuss promotion issues with us please contact the
webmaster/forum manager via email. Posts made to the
forum message board without permission will be removed in line with
the above statement about spam.
Overload your message signature.
While it's common practice on the forum messageboards for members
to include signatures that may contain graphics and links to their own
websites please do consider the other forum users. Exceedingly large
graphics, and the likes of midi files, slow down the loading of the
message thread and make the board much less enjoyable to use. Please
do not include midis/rams etc in your messages, staff will either edit
them out or remove the message concerned from public view. Members have
the option to set their forum preferences to hide all message signatures.
Post material likely to offend.
Please remember that we welcome members of all ages, and backgrounds,
to the forum. Messages (or Member Profiles) either containing offensive
material or links to such material will be removed or edited. Depending
on the circumstances/severity of the incident the poster will either
be warned, gagged, or immediately locked out of the messageboard/chat
area. Please do 'think before you speak'.
Flame.
While healthy discussion, and indeed debate, is the backbone of a
forum, personal attacks will not be tolerated. Everyone is entitled
to their own opinion, if we all thought the same life would be very
boring ;-) So please do show consideration for others.
