Christina Ricci
Born: 12th February 1980
Country: USA
Occupation: Actress, Director, Writer
Quote: "I'm not perfect-looking and I don't say the right
things, I'm a little different, nothing really special, but I guess
I come across as a little more real to people and that comes through
on the screen"
Being spotted, performing in a school play, by a theatre critic led
to an early career choice for Christina Ricci. Her movie debut
as Cher's younger daughter in Mermaids singled her out
as a child actor to watch, but it was her star turn as Wednesday in
The Addams Family films that really got audiences talking about
her.
Ricci's early promise has proved true, after a short time in 'inbetween
land' she appears to have joined the elite ranks of actors who have
successfully managed the transition to an adult career. Will her endeavours
behind the camera lead to similar success?
Why We're Talking About Her:
Because not only did she have the best lines in The Addams Family
films she was able to deliver them with a straight face.
For not being upstaged by the computer effects in Casper and
helping make it a film the adults could sit through as well as the children.
For not being afraid to tackle less mainstream roles.

She was the Premiere cover star of their "20 Stars of the Year
2020" issue (Feb '99). Who are we to argue!
Because her, falling off her shoulders, dress straps at the '99 Oscars®
ceremony showed that movie stars have the same problems as the rest
of us girls on a big night out!
For actually being something special, no matter what she thinks.
