John Carpenter - Fans and Critics
Posted by: MovieWhiz
Here I am again everyone. This time my subject is John Carpenter
films. And once again, I am here to declare in favor of the subject.
Some may put his movies in the cult section of movie libraries,
some may say horror. And a few of his titles may even count as sci-fi.
But whatever his work I have always enjoyed it.
Who can deny that one of his earliest films, Halloween,
has reached the "classic" level in horror. Some other earlier films
that may have been forgotten are, The Fog, a horror collectors
must considering it is no longer in print; and Assault on Precinct
13, a violent suspense thriller, probably his first film.
A couple of works from his middle years, stars Kurt Russell.
The first as a cynical helicopter pilot in the remake of The
Thing. The second as a cynical ex-soldier turn criminal in Escape
From New York. A third thrown in just for fun is They Live, starring
a very humorous Roddy Piper.
And most recently, the title that comes to mind is Vampires
a fairly decent tale of the undead.
Well feel free to agree, or disagree as you choose! ;o)
