Maybe I'm odd (okay, quiet you in the back! <g>) but Christmas
and New Year just aren't the same for me if I don't watch certain of
my favourite films then. They've all got some tie-in with the festive
season, so there is method to my madness. Honestly!

It's become tradition that I wrap the family presents on Christmas
Eve while watching this movie. Judy Garland's song Have Yourself
a Merry Little Christmas has a special place in my heart.
Poignant memories of 'Happy golden days of yore'.

A must at Halloween as well, who could resist this delightfully
dark animation? Certainly not me! Great music, looks and characters.
Doesn't matter how many times I watch it I always spot some new
detail. Has Tim Burton stamped all over it.

Yes, another musical! I'm not really a Frank Sinatra fan, but
if there's one movie I swoon over him in it's this. Though why,
I'm never sure. Maybe Doris Day brought out the best in him! On
the list for the pivotal Christmas time scene.

Yes, I'm a big kid at heart and this classic family musical was
frequently shown on TV at Christmas when I was a child. A true
classic that I'm looking forward to watching on DVD in future
after totally wearing out my VHS copy.

A real feel good film. A wonderful romance sprinkled with some
festive magic. An Oscar® performance from Cher, and okay,
while Nic Cage was a bit hammy this is ham you can't help loving!
The poster art scene alone has to be one of the most memorable
movie images ever, in my opinion.

An all time favourite. Romantic comedy with a Christmas setting
and a lead in Sandra Bullock that we females can relate to. Plus
it's the film that made me look at Bill Pullman in a whole
new light! ;-)

My New Year "must see" (yep, if New Year is a key time
in a movie I like I'm gonna watch it then. Predictable, that's
me!) Comedy, romance and yes - that scene. I must admit that I've
rather gone off Meg Ryan in recent years but still love this film.
